SKIN COMPLIANCE ISSUES | REALLY BASIC HELP As it turns out, the programmers at music match aren't very considerate as regards skin files. If the skin you are trying to use was made before the new upgrade in the program, it may give you an error. You can try adjusting the "mmtheme.ini" file with notepad and changing the line at the top that reads [MMJB_Theme_Version] to [MMJB_Theme_Version] And, vice-versa, if you are trying to load a newer skin file on an older version of the program, you can try adjusting the "mmtheme.ini" file with notepad and changing the line at the top that reads [MMJB_Theme_Version] to [MMJB_Theme_Version] If you are using ".mmz" files and wondering just where the "ini" file is and how to get to it, know this: ".mmz" files are just renamed "zip" archives. Find the file on your hard drive and change it's extension from ".mmz" to ".zip". You may then treat the file like any other ZIP archive. As long as your ZIP archive is extracted to a new folder inside the Music Match "skins" folder, it will operate just like an ".mmz" file. Although, we can't guarantee that that will work, it has been helpful for most people. Back-hacking Version 9 skins for earlier players: You can try adjusting the "mmtheme.ini" file with notepad and changing the line at the top that reads [MMJB_Theme_Version] to [MMJB_Theme_Version] This seems to work. Some of the buttons don't come up in the player window, and your webmaster experienced errors in the program when running a back-hacked version 9 skin. Hack skins at your own risk!! Some users have never added a skin to MMJB. For these users, getting a skin is easy here at MMJBSkins.com. But once they have the skin, the question is "What do I do now?" What you have to do is "install" the skin into MMJB. Here's how: Music match put a folder on your computer for all of it's working files. This is usually C>Program Files>Music Match one of the folders in there is called "Skins", and inside that folder you will see a separate folder for every skin that is installed for MMJB. if you want to have a new skin, you have to install it. Skins that come with an extension marked MMZ are custom zip files just for MMJB. all you have to do to them is right-click and select "Install" form the context menu. Skins that come with and extension marked ZIP are regular zip files. You will need a free program called Winzip (www.winzip.com) to get them open. once you get the ZIP files open , follow the format above. start a new folder inside skins named after your new skin, and put all of the skin files inside that folder. (examine the structure of some default skin to make sure you have done this correctly) have fun! MMJBskins.com receives it's skins thru partnerships with working artists.
